Smart Ledger is designed as a fully offline, local-data accounting application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring complete transparency about how your data is handled.

🔒 Information We Do NOT Collect

Smart Ledger operates entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, store, or share any of the following:

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number, address)
• Financial data, journal entries, account balances, or transaction records
• Device identifiers, IMEI, or hardware information
• Location data or GPS coordinates
• Usage statistics or behavioral analytics
• Crash reports or diagnostic data sent to our servers
• Contact lists, camera, or microphone data

📱 How the App Works

Smart Ledger is a completely offline accounting system. Here is exactly how your data is handled:

• Local Storage Only: All journal entries, ledger accounts, transactions, and financial reports are stored exclusively on your device using local device storage.
• No Internet Required: The app functions fully without an internet connection. No data is ever sent to external servers.
• No Third-Party Analytics: We do not integrate any analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or tracking libraries.
• No Cloud Backup: Your data is not automatically backed up to any cloud service by Smart Ledger.
• You Control Your Data: Export your data as PDF or Excel at any time. Import data from previously exported PDF reports.

⚙️ App Features & Data Handling

Smart Ledger provides the following features, all processed locally on your device:

• Journal Entries: Record double-entry transactions with debit and credit lines — stored locally only.
• Auto-Generated Reports: Ledger, Trial Balance, Income Statement, and Balance Sheet are generated automatically from your local journal entries.
• PDF & Excel Export: Reports are generated and saved to your device's local storage or shared via your device's share function. No data is sent to our servers.
• Data Import: PDF reports exported from Smart Ledger can be re-imported to restore data — all processed locally.
• 25 Currencies: Currency selection (USD, EUR, GBP, PKR, etc.) is a display preference stored locally.
• Data Clear: Deleting data permanently removes all records from your device. This action is irreversible — always export your data before clearing.

🌐 Internet & Permissions

Smart Ledger may request the following device permissions, used solely for the described purposes:

• Storage / Files Access: Required to save exported PDF and Excel reports to your device's Downloads folder and to import previously exported data files.
• No Internet Permission: Smart Ledger does not require or use internet connectivity for any core functionality.

No permissions are used to collect, transmit, or share your personal or financial data.

👶 Children's Privacy

Smart Ledger is a professional accounting tool intended for users aged 13 and above. The application does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13.

Since the app collects no personal data whatsoever, it poses no privacy risk to users of any age.

🔗 Third-Party Services

Smart Ledger does not integrate with any third-party services, advertising networks, analytics platforms, or external APIs.

The Google Play Store, through which Smart Ledger is distributed, may collect certain information according to Google's Privacy Policy. This is independent of Smart Ledger and outside our control.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the application or legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy.
